Waterloo's Bracelet of Hope campaign is launching a new look for its website at
www.waterloohashope.com, designed & hosted by Student Reach International (SRI).
Since launching in January, Waterloo's $2.5 million campaign is well underway, with students at the University of Waterloo and Wilfrid Laurier University leading the charge. The re-design of the website comes days before Mayor Brenda Halloran is set to depart for Lesotho, Africa on a 2-week trip with Dr. Anne-Marie Zajdlik.
Upon arrival in Lesotho, Mayor Halloran and the Bracelet of Hope team will join a 6-member Student Reach International team already on the ground in Eshowe, Lesotho. Mayor Halloran will also be blogging on her trip at the
Waterloo BOH Mayor's Blog.
SRI Director Jonah Hu, who sits on Waterloo Bracelet of Hope committee, says that "the website was relaunched to add new Bracelet of Hope branding and Web 2.0 elements such as Twitter and blogging." He notes that "Waterloo is a very tech savvy town, so this is just one more way we're engaging students & citizens from a very grassroots level."
